Ada County Open Space

In the Spring of 2007 the Ada County Commissioners convened an Open Space Task Force to conduct a study of open space areas and the tools need to conserve land. An Open Space Task Force Report was released on April 22, 2008.

A series of community meetings were then held throughout Ada County to inform citizens of the report’s findings and get community feedback. The Land Trust, in partnership with Idaho Smart Growth and Idaho Conservation League, have released the findings of this community outreach in a report called the Heart of Our Valley. While it is not meant to be a statistically valid public opinion survey, it continues to illustrate strong support for conservation of natural areas and the desire to find solutions.
