Where We Work

Land Trust of the Treasure Valley

Service Area

As the Land Trust of the Treasure Valley heads into a new era, we are ambitiously looking farther afield.  Continuing the labored love of conserving the open spaces of the Treasure Valley, we also recognize the need for an established and committed entity to serve the region that encompasses the Treasure Valley.

The conservation values we associate with the Treasure Valley are firmly rooted in the headwaters that feed our rivers, the wildlife migrations on our montane slopes, the food security of our communities, and the mountain and agrarian views we relish daily.

Furthermore, the landowners in those areas – the stewards of those rural landscapes – have been without consistent support for their conservation needs.  In the establishment of our service area, and the expansion of our conservation focus, the Land Trust of the Treasure Valley is eagerly seeking to fulfill this broader conservation role on behalf of our supporters, our partners, the landowners, and the landscapes themselves.

Delineated by the subbasins that drain into the Treasure Valley, our new service area will enable us to serve landscapes that have historically been without a conservation entity, better support conservation partners that are already active, and maintain our traditional land trust role in the valley bottoms and foothills.  As the Treasure Valley grows, so does our conservation community.
