Restoring Rangelands After the 2025 Range Fire

MARCH 25 ,2025— In partnership with the Idaho Army National Guard, the Land Trust of the Treasure Valley (LTTV) served as the fiscal administrator for this major restoration initiative—allowing federal funding to flow through LTTV so that the Guard and partner teams could deploy resources efficiently and effectively.

The project provides more than $300,000 in conservation funding to restore private rangeland damaged by the 2025 Range Fire, which scorched over 27,000 acres in the valley. The resources will support three critical actions: native-plant seeding, invasive-species management, and replacement of livestock fencing.

By acting as the fiscal conduit, LTTV enabled the Guard to leverage federal funds rapidly, coordinate across landowner, ranching, and conservation stakeholder networks, and deploy on-the-ground restoration work at scale. This partnership strengthens our collective capacity to respond to development and wildfire pressures—protecting the Valley’s working lands, wildlife habitat and open landscapes for generations to come.

Stay tuned for further updates and outcomes from this dynamic collaboration—one that underscores how innovative funding structures and cross-sector partnerships are helping to accelerate conservation in the face of increasing threats.
